All Whites Through to the World Cup

The All Whites have beaten Bahrain 1-0 in the second leg of their World Cup Qualifier in front of 35,500 people at Wellington Stadium tonight.

The Kiwis showed loads of Kiwi grit and determination withstanding a fast starting Bahrain side before gradually asserting some dominance in the midfield that allowed them to begin to return fire.

The All Whites took the lead courtesy of a Rory Fallon header on the cusp of half time:

And just as time was running out, conceding a free kick with the equalizer tantalizingly close:

But in the end, the All Whites hung in there, to cement their spot at the World Cup, and start the biggest party Wellington has seen in a long time.

Congrats to New Zealand. Bahrain were truly dreadful, I can’t believe Saudi Arabia failed against them. And why they let a defender take that penalty kick I’ll never know. The New Zealand players seemed to want it more.

Yeah I took a quick 1 am nap then wook up for it. Probably wish I hadn’t. The amount of times Bahrain turned it over for no reason was almost too much for me to handle.

Good luck NZ for next year. If i’, not mistaken, If Costa Rica win, Australian can draw New Zealand next year in the pool. Good luck, hope you guys get a football revolution like the Aussies last Cup.
